Camp moment

Weeeeeeee! I was pedaling down the hill using my brakes slowly and carefully so as not to fall over. It felt like I was going down a roller coaster.Slowly and steadily I made it. Next Sam the instructor told  us to start going on the ramps, I started to feel more nervous but I took a deep breath I said to myself that my goal was to go over the see-saw by the end of this session. As went over the first ramp I felt relief in myself and then as I went over the second ramp I could smell the dirt and feel the breeze that pushed me down the ramp I could also  hear the cicadas chirping it  felt like they were cheering me  on for the third ramp.We went around in circles going over the ramps it felt like I went on the ramps a million times. After a couple of minutes Sam flipped the see-saw over. Igot even more scared ,I said to myself “ you  can do it Henna’’ so I took a deep breath lined up the bike, started paddling and I rode over it. I was really proud of myself. The seesaw really challenged me but I achieved my goal.

Log Cabin

              Log cabin

There I was standing in front of the forest. The sunlight shone on to me and it felt like the forest was welcoming me in. As I was walked into the relaxing forest I could see short and tall trees and curvy branches, dirt and leaves. As I walked further I could see rocks and I kept walking now I saw bumpy paths and also saw green grass growing. The branches were lying on the grass. Ahead of me I could see birds tweeting and it felt like they were talking with me

Now I finally reached the creepy log cabin, it was afternoon now. The log cabin was old the windows were dirty. The leaves were all sort of autumn colour red green yellow brown. As I walked I could see green grass I saw bark and branches  lying around the grass.

I walked up the front steps and opened the door...

Athletics Day-Discus

The second activity was discus, I was very nervous. As I was waiting in the line for my practice toss, I started to become more nervous. It was nearly my turn. Finally, my practice toss. I thought I was okay. I was excited for my real toss. It was my turn. Oh no. Standing in the circle made me feel more nervous. My hands were trembling with fear. I held the discus, the tips of my fingers curled around the discus. I took a deep breath and tossed it. After I finished my toss I felt relief in myself. Jealousy was building inside of me because the girl in front of me tossed the discus further than me. I was disappointed of myself. Next was 100m sprint.

How the fern got it's silver

How the fern got it's silver

In the beginning, all the plants were all green.Once there was  a girl that went for a walk in the forest, as she was walking she spotted a fern tree.As she went to look at the fern tree, she also found silver underneath she thought why would that be there? So she thought that she might ask the forest god.

Then she went on a adventure to find  the forest god,she  walked and walked and walked. When she got there the forest god already knew why she  was hear but he didn’t say anything. So the girl said “why was the silver underneath the fern tree.” and the god said
“You need to hide it from the kea. It wants to have it, and that's why it was hidden there even before you got it.You need to go and do something with that silver.”

So the girl went back  to the fern tree as quick as she could .Then she painted a fern out of the silver, and as she was painting, something magical happened. Every fern turned silver. And that’s why every fern is silver, and even on the All Blacks’ jersey.

As I sit and think about ANZAC DAY…

As I sit and think about ANZAC DAY…

I see the brave soldiers waiting for the battle to begin,in their trenches all scared and nervous and worried about what would happen. Then the battle began and the all started fighting.they could hear the scream of bombs drop. They fight on the muddy ground and sometimes on the wet grass.Fighting all day. Some soldiers already died…

Now I see a large green field covered with, blood red poppies. The poppies grew where the soldiers fought and also died and were buried. There was a young soldier who saw the red poppies and wrote a poem about it.It was called In Flanders Field, the poem was so popular all over the world. We will remember the people that went to war.
